Kaboom! on iTunes/censorship
Today, April 22nd, the Soul Cannon album is live on iTunes. Very exciting. Thanks, iTunes.
However, I have a beef. It’s about censorship. I understand that iTunes needs to let its customers know which albums contain explicit lyrics (ours contains none). I understand that young children may go on iTunes and look at the titles of songs and albums. I don’t understand why the word “Intercourse” (as in our song, “Verbal Intercourse”) needs to be censored. Who is responsible for this? News flash: Verbal Intercourse means to have a conversation. On iTunes it looks like this: “Verbal I*********e.” Since when is this an obscenity?
From Random House unabridged dictionary:
Intercourse: (n)
1. Dealings or communication between individual groups, countries, etc.
2. Interchange of thoughts or feelings
3. Sexual relations or a sexual coupling.

!!!Kaboom!!!
That’s the album title. It’s coming out April 22nd. It will be available by just about any means you can imagine, thanks to our distributor, Morphius Records
We have an amazing jacket design, as well as some new stickers, shirts, and the release show flyer, all created, with love, by Mike McNeive.

The Album!
Here’s what’s happening. We recorded everything at Lord Baltimore Recordings with Adam Cooke. We’ll have a final mix in a little over a week, and then it’s off for mastering.
Mike McNeive is working on the art at this very moment.
The release show is Friday, April 25th at The Ottobar, and we’re totally psyched to have our amazing friends J-Roddy Walston and The Business on the bill with us.
Everybody tell your everybody and get ready. It’s gonna be DYNAMITE! |
